The Christmas Tag!!

While I wasn't necessarily tagged by anyone, I loved the questions and wanted to begin December with a fun and festive Christmas theme! 

Lets Get Started: 

1. Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or synthetic?

Real, I have had one every year of my life and hope to every year to come! 

2. You're in a coffee shop, it's December, what do you pick up? 

Something warm & cozy. I'd have to go with either a nutty soy latte or a sweet caramel latte, like the Caramle Brulee from Starbucks.

3. What's your favorite color scheme for decorating the Christmas tree? 

Definitely the traditional colors! I love red, green, and gold with a lot of sparkle and personalized ornaments! 

4. Giving or Recieving?

Giving! I love a good gift, but giving someone something I know they will love is unbeatable! 

5. To mince pie or not to?

I have never had one...so not?

6. What's your traditional Christmas lunch?

A delicious brunch made by my grandma! 

7. Christmas day fashion.

Christmas eve is when I get all dressed up, so for Christmas I keep it casual with a sweater, leggings, boots, and a scarf! 

8. What is your favorite Christmas Song?

I love them all, but "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole always stands out above the rest. It instantly makes me feel like I'm by the fire, warm drink in my hand, Christmas tree lit, and that warm, cozy feeling of Christmas. Does it get better than that?

9.What is your favorite Christmas film?

Again there are so many great options, but I will choose my favorite three. I love How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey, Annabelle's Wish, and last but not least, The Year Without Santa Clause! 

10. Open presents before or after lunch?

FIRST THING! I love opening presents bright and early, despite the fact that I am not a morning person on any other day!

Hello Autumn, I love you.

Fall is by far my favorite season and October is definitely my favorite month. The 65 degree weather, colorful assortment of leaves, candles, cider, coffees, holidays, and desserts are just a few reasons why this season trumps all the others. I know I am not alone in my love for Autumn and decided to write a post showing you how I made my rooms cozy and festive for fall. I live between two different houses right now while I am at university, so I had a rare opportunity to decorate two very different rooms - I didn't mind!

My First room is definitely on the girly fairy tale side of decor, but done in a more mature way, considering I am nineteen years old;but who doesn't love a good bit of magic every now and then.
I found these twinkle lights or white christmas lights at target for $2 .50 each and only needed two packs to light and entire wall in my room. I used clear command strip hooks and hung them to my wall, simple and basically effortless. I also found this AMAZING wall decal on sale for $2 .50 as well and decided that it added the sweet and girly vibe I was going for in this room.

I accented with orange to tie in all of the fall pieces I wanted to add. I have a few mini pumpkins scattered around the room, along with a vase of flowers, though they are fake which is not normally my taste, I fell in love with the colors and loved how they looked in the room. I also found a strand of leaves that went perfectly across my calender and favorite quote of all time "Dwell in possibilities" By Emily Dickinson! I must say, finishing with my favorite Bath & Body Works candle "Leaves" brings the perfect fall scent to my newly decorated room! 

My Second Room has black furniture with burgundy accents, so naturally I pulled out the burgundy, orange, and brown, colors of Fall. I purchased most of my decorations from Target for a bargain price of $13 and was pretty proud of that accomplishment! Overall I was happy with the cozy and warm colors, especially when burning my favorite fall scents (Fall Candle Blog Coming Soon!)

It's "Our Moment" :)

I could not be more excited about this blog post! I have been meaning to write it for about two weeks since I first purchased this product, but with school starting I simply haven't had time! 

This new perfume is none other than "Our Moment" by One Direction! It is well known that I am a HUGE One Direction fan and had been so excited for the release of their new fragrance, especially after watching the promotions, brilliant advertisement, and following the update emails...like I said, a HUGE fan. 

The fragrance was actually released earlier in my neck of the woods than originally noted. It was available in Nordstrom's and Macy's, but surprisingly Sephora did not yet have it! I bought mine at Macy's and ended up opting for the smaller bottle of 30ml, because the packaging was proportionate and petite. 

Speaking of the packaging, it is GORGEOUS! I love the pink color of the perfume and the diamond shape of the bottle. The royal crown top is just the icing on the cake. 

The excitement of opening the package was improved by a personal letter from the boys about how proud of and excited they were for Our Moment and how much they enjoyed the process of making it. 

The fragrance itself is just as the boys describe in their press conference, subtle, sweet, and delicate with floral nodes. At first I wasn't sure about it, simply because I am very sensitive to smells and "perfumey" smells often give me a headache, but after smelling it a couple more times, I fell in love and made a purchase! It seems to be going very quickly, so I have to remember to savor it; a difficult task considering it is the scent created by none other than the ever so charming Harry, Liam, Zayne, Louis, and Niall, but a task that is possible none the less! 

Overall, I love Our Moment, not only because it is One Direction's, but because the scent and packaging are quality.

My Sephora VIB Makeover!!

This past Saturday I had a lovely experience that gave me the chance to be pampered and helped me learn more about the beauty industry! I am a VIB (Very Important **brushes off shoulder**) beauty insider with Sephora, meaning that I spent a boat load of money throughout this year on products that I love! Because of this status, I received a free 45 minute make up consultation with a beauty specialist.

 I made my appointment bright and early on a Saturday morning, leaving me walking around the mall with the lovely morning mall walkers, enjoying their exercise laps. My appointment was with Jessica who is a lovely and sweet woman who knew what she was talking about. I very much enjoyed the experience and didn't mind a bit that I had to wait a couple of times while she helped customers. I adore anything dealing with beauty and who doesn't love getting their make up done?!

I began the conversation by asking how she got into the beauty industry and asked about a couple tips and tricks. Essentially I was able to learn some important things that I need to do in order to make my way into the beauty world...which is my newest career goal. Besides the things I learned, I was like a kid in a candy store picking out the make up. Jessica went around the store shopping for various brands and products, but I was able to try a few things I have wanted to try for quite some time. I was especially excited to try the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer in the colors "Bisque", the Nars Creamy Concealer in "Honey", and a rich and luxurious Dior Lip gloss. I loved each of these products and could have purchased any singe one of them, sadly I am not made of money and only one product truly stole my heart.

One of Jessica's brand choice was one I hadn't tried before, Marc Jacobs *GASP* I don't know why I hadn't experienced his lovely products before, but I will say that I loved all of the ones that she used on me! His new eye shadow palette called "The Lolita 206" helped create the sultry look on my eyes, but the product I couldn't leave the store without was his orangey-peach blush named "Irresistible", how fitting! This color is amazing and it applies so incredibly smooth. The blush is also very build-able and can be subtle or bold. As soon as I looked in the mirror, I knew that was the product I wanted to purchase. Jessica applied it directly above the bronzer, avoiding the apple of the cheek. She then blended a lighter blush with a pink tone from the apple of the cheek into the Marc Jacobs blush. This won me over!

I have been using the same technique, applying this directly above my bronzer and using my all time favorite blush: Benefits "Coralista" on the apple of my cheeks! Here is what that blush combo looks like:

Overall I enjoyed every minute of my morning Saturday and felt very blessed for the opportunity! I also received some free samples for being patient while they helped customers, an added bonus and many products that I am very excited to try!!
