My Road Trip Basics

When I'm planning & packing for a road trip there are a few things I consider essential.

1. Coffee - Let's be honest, coffee, for me, is always essential and road trips are no exception!
2. Leggings - Comfortable clothing is crucial when you're going to be sat in a car for hours, I personally love road trips, but skinny jeans can't compete with leggings when it comes to comfort on the trip.
3. Simple Makeup - I like to have the basics on when I'm traveling, I think wearing a bit of make up helps me look and feel more awake, which is definitely important for miles of driving. My go to makeup for a road trip is a bit of concealer, mascara, powder and of course, eyebrows.
4. Small Bills - Money is important, but having smaller amounts helps with tolls and unexpected stops!
5. A Portable/Car Charger - This is so important! Whether it is a car charger or a portable charger, having a back up battery for your phone or gps device is really helpful!
6. Amazing Music - Driving and music go hand-in-hand for me & on a road trip I need my favorite music to accompany me!! Turning up the volume and singing along is my specialty.

If you're going on a road trip soon maybe some of these essentials will make it on your list, but what are your current necessities for a road trip?

Travel: Beach Trip

A little weekend getaway was exactly what my best friend and I needed. This past weekend we packed up our bags, got our iced coffees, turned up the tunes, and headed out for a traffic filled road trip to her beach house in Bethany.

I am a beach girl inside and out, I could literally stay on the beach all day and if it was socially acceptable would sleep there too. Hopefully
one day I will be able to own a beach house of my own, but I feel very blessed that I have one to escape to when I need the sandy shores.

We couldn't have asked for better beach weather, sunny and 75 degrees with warm ocean water and the perfect breeze. Saturday was our day to get everything accomplished so we went for an early morning kayak trip around the canal, then ate a delicious lunch at one of my favorite restaurants down there called Ocean View. Then we finally made it to the beach for a few hours, fell asleep, through around a football (we can both throw some pretty mean spirals) and swam until it was time to get ready for dinner.

I wore a quick and easy outfit and make up that took five minutes and then we were out the door to my favorite restaurant in Bethany called The Cottage Cafe, followed by the gorgeous Bethany Beach Boardwalk for some shopping.

All around this trip was much needed and filled with many hilarious moments! I'm already missing the sun & sand but cannot wait to get back when I can.

Gorgeous Sunset we saw!

I made a short video of the trip, a few of my beach essentials and a mini haul featuring the few gems I found on the trip! Check it out: HERE

The Gems I found!

We finished the trip with the best donuts in the world from Fractured Prune!

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed!

Have a lovely day! XOXO
