The back-to-school blues?

I know the drill. New outfits, fresh notebooks and syllabus week. Beginning my senior year in college is quite surreal, but it leads to a thought-provoking start to the semester. Some will say these are the best four years of your life while others believe post-grad life is where the real freedom and experience steps in. So, what do I believe?

My past three years in college have given me more independence, confidence, responsibility, motivation and knowledge. I have met some of my closest friends along the way in both my first school in New Jersey and the University of Maryland. These positive elements of college have also been mixed with stress, sleepless nights, anxiety and pressure. Like most things in life, it is not about the situation, but your attitude toward it. I learn daily how important it is to take the good things with the bad because that is life itself.

As I embark on this last year of school (unless by some circumstance I go to grad school in the future) I am excited to spend more time with friends, further enhance my knowledge & skills in the public relations field and better myself daily. But I am not entering this year with the mindset that these years are the best of my life, rather that they are a part of the experience of life as a whole. I like to think that I have better things coming in regards to this blog, my career, my relationships and more. That these are some of the best years of my life, some of many.

Happy first day of school.

Your type of snow day

Snow days can be a lot of different things: relaxing, fun, stressful, cozy and so many others. Ideally, I like snow days to be restful, but the past few I've been graced with this winter season have been much needed to catch up on work.

While it does help to have a productive day in my PJs, I want to encourage those of you who are stuck inside for the day to use it to take the type of day you need. If you need a day off and the weather permits, take one. If you need a day to organize your planner, your office or your house, take one. If you need a day to catch up on work or school, like me, take one.

I like to get ahead on assignments, catch up on emails or phone calls, and study for upcoming exams, but sometimes I sneak in a few minutes to take some pictures of the beauty. Here's a few beauts I've taken on my snowy work days!

I hope you enjoy your snow days if you have them & take the type of day you need.
Much love.

Reflections & Resolutions

With the holiday season coming to an end, I have realized a few important things & established a few new goals for 2015.

I have learned:
  • To value the little moments.
  • To take more pictures to remember those moments.
  • To take stressful situations & break them into simpler steps to solve.
  • That family & friends are immeasurably valuable.

My goals for 2015:
  • (The classic one) To eat healthier & exercise. Here's that trick, I'm not setting this goal with a specific weight limit to lose or value to hit, but rather with the goal of simply feeling more energetic, healthier & all around bettering myself.
  • To stay organized consistently. I love schedules, planners and organized rooms, but one thing thrown on the floor seems to spiral into a messy room that doesn't get cleaned for weeks. This year I hope to put things in their place right after I used them to avoid the spiral of disorganization.
  • To be kind & understanding. I want to love others and listen to them more. I try and do this every year & sometimes it is not an easy task, but each year I make it a goal.
  • To write more blog posts & upload more YouTube videos. This blog is such a passion and love of mine & I want to create more content that is interesting, fun and quality to post for you guys to read! I also love filming, editing and creating videos! I plan to upload more regularly and test my creativity on both of these platforms.
  • To read more. I love literature, especially poetry, but sometimes I can't seem to find the time to read. This year I hope to read more, so that I can not only dive into an amazing book, but so I can spend more time thinking, writing and dreaming.
The New Year is a time that I think is valuable. It is a chance to revamp your life, reflect on what happened in the past years and use what you learned to improve the upcoming year. 2015 is an opportunity to become a "you" who makes you inspired.

So keep dreaming, keep loving & stay postive.

Happy 2014!!

Happy New Years!!

I wanted to do a quick post wishing everyone a happy new year and talk a bit about what I think the new year is all about. This year I didn't set the same resolutions that I usually do, because every year I tend to forget about them after January. Instead I decided to take a moment to reflect on why we all make such a big deal out of New Years!

I think the main reason why we celebrate with friends, set goals for ourselves, and place such importance on our New Years festivities is because it inspires us. The new year is a chance for us to not only reflect on the positive and negative aspects of the past year, but it is a refreshing time to in a sense "start over". January 1 of every year is the only day that offers a feeling of hope, motivation, and most importantly inspiration. I love how determined and driven everyone becomes in the beginning of a new year.

For this year, having decided that this was the purpose and the significance of New Years, I want to motivate myself and challenge myself to accomplish things I typically wouldn't or improve upon the things I care about most. Instead of setting incredibly specific goals about weight, diet, relationships, or work I want to push myself to improve and appreciate each aspect of my life. Motivation and inspiration are so important to accomplish the things you dream of and hope for; so for this year, 2014, I hope to accomplish new things, experience new things, and overall, to grow as an person.

We are all humans, with our own experiences, goals, and dreams. I encourage all of you to challenge yourself to get inspired this year and be the person you desire to be. You never know what dreams can come true when you stay motivated.

Happy New Years again, I can't wait to fill this blog up this year with all the best things in life! Family, beauty, travel, fashion, and inspiration.

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed!! :)

Have a lovely day!! xoxo
