Beauty: Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette

A faithful palette of mine has been the Urban Decay Naked Basics. It has six shadows, five of which are matte and one is shimmer. As the name implies they are are all warm, neutral colors. This palette is well loved and I use it every single day, whether it is for my eyebrows (for which I mix the colors "Naked 2" and "Faint"), an everyday eye look, or the perfect brow-bone highlight ("w.o.s") I adore this palette.

This having been said, you can probably imagine my excitement when I discovered there was a new Naked Basics 2 palette!! As soon as I got my hands on it, I realized we were meant for each other.

Too dramatic? Maybe. But for me, this palette is a new everyday staple & it couldn't have come at a better season.

I often switch between using warm and cool tones on my eyes, but this season I can confidently say I am loving this palette. The neutral, cool tones seem to compliment my skin tone and bring out the blue-green color of my eyes (something I LOVE in an eye shadow).

This palette, like the first, has six neutral shades, containing five matte colors and one shimmer. The colors are perfect for an everyday eye look, evening look or a brow bone highlight. The shadows are smooth, blend well and layer easily (as with most Urban Decays Naked Shadows). I find myself reaching for this to create an I-put-effort-into-my-makeup look out of only two shadows - a look that takes less than five minutes on those sleepy school mornings.

I have a favorite color within the palette that I will likely hit pan on well before the others. The color "cover" is darling. It is a light-medium brown shade that stands apart from the rest with a slight red undertone. I apply this color across the entirety of my lid (with no cream shadow as a base...this is revolutionary for me and speaks wonders to the shadow.) Instantly, I see a difference in my eye color as the undertone of red brings out the blue-green in my eyes, try it out for yourself and see if you notice the same thing. I usually blend a bit of "frisk" in my crease, add a liquid liner, highlight my brow bone and voila my eyes are done.

Here's the shadow combination below:

If you have the chance to experiment with this palette yourself, I would highly recommend it!

Beauty: Marc Jacobs "Lolita" Eye Shadow Palette

This palette is a bit of a luxury, with a pretty price tag, but it is truly a gem! It has caused quite the excitement within the beauty community for a while now & rightfully so!

The colors in the palette are all neutral and contain three matte colors (white, beige, and dark brown) and four shimmery colors ( ranging from coppery tones to bronze tones). The shadows are blend-able and build-able and all around gorgeous!

Happy April!!

Hopefully none of you have been tricked seeing as it is April Fools Day, but personally I love the first day of April because it truly feels like Spring & it is my birthday month! :)

For Spring, I love a simple and easy makeup look & most days, especially those early school mornings, I am going to opt for a "no makeup" makeup look that is quick and takes ten minutes or less!

Here's my go to look
